The New Data Protection Regime: all change or more of the same?

With a new data protection regime due to be commenced on 25th May 2018, this course seeks to outline the changes to current data protection obligations that this will bring. The course will explore the content of the new General Data Protection Regulation 2016 as well as providing a grounding in the requirements of the current regime.
Data Protection legislation covers all sectors, including the third/voluntary sectors. The course is aimed at anyone with a data protection lead role: finance; marketing; trustees as well as front line staff.
This is an interactive workshop with a mix of presentation, group work and Q&A.
The course aims:
- To raise awareness about the changes taking place
- To provide a checklist for organisations to identify gaps in practice
- To help organisations prepare a plan of action for compliance
- To reassure organisations about current practice
